As genetics becomes an applied technology, Dutch Passion are among the leaders in its application to cannabis plants. Their hi-tech approach to the development of new strains and F-1 hybrids is extremely scientific and innovative. Dutch Passion have applied their technological expertise well in coming up with what constitutes a major breakthrough in cannabis seed technology -- 'feminised' seeds. With the development of 'feminised' seeds, Dutch Passion have solved the problem of having to carefully sex plants prior to flowering, making the growing experience a shorter and less complicated affair. Although 'feminised' seeds are too new to have really taken off, they are surely the thing of the future. Their skill in the field of genetics is also more than evident within their extensive catalogue where some of the best known and most enduring strains are available alongside newer hybrids that have already created some excitement in Amsterdam.

SKUNK PASSION®

Skunk Passion is a well-known strain that has
a strong Sativa influence. Producing large
hairy buds, some 25 cm in length, and a rich
skunky smell, this is a good yielder that has a
distinctive hit that gathers momentum, peaks well
and, if you let it, diminishes smoothly,

Flowering period: 8 to 9 weeks.

GREEN SPIRIT®


A Big Bud/Skunk No. 1 hybrid, Green Spirit is an
unusual strain. Although it has one of the lowest THC
ratios of almost any strain in the Dutch Passion
catalogue, it produces a wonderful high. Originally
developed to bring more consistency to the Big Bud
strain, which can vary tremendously from plant to
plant, it has a rather different hit, clearer and
smoother, than its progenitor. Green Spirit is an
excellent cropper that produces large, solid buds.

Flowering period: 8 to 9 weeks.

SUPER HAZE®


Originally the Haze plant was totally Sativa but
although the high is often preferred, Sativas do not
perform well in growth terms. They are often very
leggy, long flowering and yield small crops. To
rectify these factors, the Haze plant was crossed
with a Skunk No. 1 and this produced a faster,
denser, higher yielding plant that made the 2nd and
3rd generation Hazes much better commercial
propositions. Although Super Haze still demands
a fairly long flowering period, the end product is
well worth the wait.

Flowering period: 10 to 12 weeks.

CALIFORNIAN ORANGE


Orange Bud is one of the most ubiquitous of coffee-
shop grasses. Popular for its sweet citrus taste and
distinctive buzzy high, there are many strains
available. This one is a 50/50 Indica/Sativa cross
that has a great hit. A highly stable hybrid, it has
been around for a decade or two which says
something for its durability and cash crop potential.
Producing a sweet, clear high, this is an excellent
cropper.

Flowering period: 8 to 10 weeks.
