OTHER PAYMENT OPTIONS

There are a number of methods for sending payments internationally through banks and post offices but all incur charges at one or both ends. Where a selected transaction method involves bank processing charges at our end (for our bank to process your transaction), THESE CHARGES MUST BE ADDED TO THE SUM SENT. If they are not included, you order will be delayed and/or reduced.

INTERNATIONAL POSTAL MONEY ORDER: These are available from post offices in almost every country in the world. International Postal Money Orders are simple to arrange and incur no charge for processing at our end. You simply turn up at the post office with the address of the recipient and the sum to be sent plus the processing charge made at your end by the post office. Although this is not the fastest method for paying (two to three weeks), it is safe and not too costly. If this payment option is selected, the person sending the money must be the same as the person who made the order (same name and address) otherwise we may not be able to tie-up the payment with the order.

BANK DRAFTS, BANK CHEQUES AND MONEY ORDERS: We accept bank cheques and drafts and international money orders in GUILDERS OR POUNDS STERLING. This is, however, an expensive option as it incurs charges at both ends. The charge for processing such transfers at the Coffeehouse Culture end is currently fl.24.00 and this amount should be added to the cost of the order to avoid delays and/or the reduction of the order. This is a fairly fast option usually taking three to five days. Different banks have different options available for transferring sums internationally. Please enquire at your own bank.

BANK WIRE TRANSFER: Not all banks offer this facility but all offer something similar, even if it is only Western Union Money Transfers (to be avoided, see below.) It is fast, secure and cheaper than most other bank options. It does, however, still incur charges at both ends. The charge for processing such transfers at the Coffeehouse Culture end is currently fl.18.00 and this amount should be added to the cost of the order to avoid delays and/or the reduction of the order. The cost at the buyer’s end varies from bank to bank.

WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFERS: This is the most expensive option incurring a fl. 24.00 charge at our end and a substantial hit at your end. Although this is very fast, reliable and easy to set it, the cost makes it the least viable payment method bar one.

MONEY IN AN ENVELOPE: Sending cash through the mail is always very risky. Somehow mailmen seem to have x-ray vision when it comes to envelopes containing cash. The only -- relatively -- safe way to send cash is in an envelop that is securely taped on all seams and by registered mail. Registered mail provides insurance cover so that should your cash get ‘lost’ in transit you can claim it back. We strongly urge you, however, not to send your money through the mail.
